North-South Urban Light Railway Cologne

North-South Urban Light Railway Cologne
The North-South Urban Light Railway in Cologne is currently one of the largest urban construction projects in Germany. The new city rail line will connect Cologne Central Station with the historic centre, the city's southern Südstadt district and further southern urban areas via an underground railway. The stations were planned by eight different architectural offices and vary strikingly in their geometric and creative characteristics. Schüßler-Plan plays a leading technical role within the engineering consortium which is providing construction management services for extending the line and has been commissioned to manage the extension of the North-South Urban Light Railway (1st construction stage). In addition to providing construction management services for the extension, the technical building services and the materials handling systems, the company's remit also encompasses a number of special services. This means that Schüßler-Plan's employees have coordinated and technically supervised the complete expansion, taking into consideration the close relationship between the technical, spatial and timing aspects.
