E.ON Headquarters, Essen
The new E.ON headquarters is located next to Essen´s exhibition. It consists of two elliptical office towers with a height of 63 m and two 5-storey low-rise buildings, connected by a glazed Atrium with a height of 24 m. The complex of buildings is built in a holohedral way and propped up with three basement floors under slung, which are mainly used as underground car parks, storage spaces or technical spaces. The slabs were built as point loaded reinforced concrete flat slabs with ceiling spans up to 8.5 m. From the vertical view these are supported through 22 façade columns, two inner columns on each site and by reinforced cores.
